Windows 10 PIN sign-in: Disable (or re-enable)

Modified on Tue, 17 Jul 2018 at 06:22 PM

Windows 10 allows users to sign in with a PIN (hard-wired to the device, useless on any other machine). There may be occasions (such as supporting a legacy environment) where Administrators want to disable this function, and force sign on by password only. A reboot of the machine is required.

The .reg files (in the attached .ZIP archive) will add and modify the DWORD value in the registry key below:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System

AllowDomainPINLogon DWORD

0 or (delete) = Disable
1 = Enable

Warning: if distributing to users, they will need to override the security warning alert by clicking "Run":
