Your new Microsoft 365 services are ready

Modified on Wed, 22 Jun 2022 at 11:07 PM

Overview: we've completed the provisioning of your Microsoft 365 license and services. Before you dive right in, ensure you download the free Microsoft Authenticator app to your phone (if you don't already have it) and have the following required info to hand. This will ensure the fastest and easiest on-boarding and you'll be flying along in no time!

Step 1: Get the Microsoft Authenticator app

In addition to securing access to your account using MFA, with this app you'll be able to go password-less and use additional security features of your phone such as face ID.

Step 2: Gather required info

Required:

  • Email address (we will have provided this for you)
  • Mobile phone number
  • Temporary password (we will have provided this for you)
  • Access to a computer, tablet or mobile device with internet access

Optional:

  • Alternative email address (where to send password reset, if your forget your password)
  • Office phone number (to hear spoken password codes instead of SMS)
  • 5 security questions + answers (an optional way to prove your identity)
  • FIDO security key (simple USB stick - no password required; ask us for details)

Step 3: Login and choose your own password

Go to https://portal.office.com and sign in (email address & password)

You will be prompted to choose a new password, verify your mobile phone via SMS code, and add your account to the Microsoft Authenticator app (you downloaded this in step 1)

Step 4: (Optional, but recommended) Download the Office apps

Once logged in look for a button top-right to download the software onto your computer; also visit the Apple or Google Play store on your tablets/mobile devices. If you have the "Business Standard", "Premium" or "Enterprise" (E3 or higher) then you can download all of the Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and so on) on up to 5 devices.

Regardless, we absolutely recommend the following apps be downloaded onto mobile devices (included in all license levels):

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft OneDrive for Business
  • Microsoft OneNote

...and if you have a Windows PC or Apple Mac, ensure you download these apps as minimum (included in all license levels):

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft OneDrive for Business

Welcome aboard- we're here to help you get the best experience from your Microsoft services.
