Overview: We have been made aware of a UK-wide FUP change on the Vodafone network to 650 GB. Several incidents of usage cap have been investigated, and we can expect any Vodafone mobile data services to automatically get capped at 650 GB (or just over).
Details
In April 2025 Vodafone updated their direct B2B and consumer FUP policy down to 200 GB for "voice" and 600 GB for "data only" - see https://www.vodafone.co.uk/cs/groups/configfiles/documents/contentdocuments/vfcon058965.pdf
| Vodafone Acceptable Use Policy 3c. Specific to data use and unlimited data use: "Where Vodafone notices a Customer’s data usage exceeds 600GB per month... Vodafone reserve the right to...take other action in line with this policy" (https://www.vodafone.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/network > blocks/cap) |
Although the wholesale channel was not subject to this at the time, nor for the past year, since May 2026 this year onwards we have been aware of congestion on some masts and we have also had advisories from Vodafone about specific services flagged as high usage. As of 19th August 2026 we have had confirmation that one the measures employed to deal with "services affecting other users", namely bandwidth capping, is now strictly being enforced at 650 GB per month; affected services will be unable to consumer bandwidth until the next monthly cycle (1st day of the month).
Options
In light of this we remind our valued clients that our EE and "3" MBB (data-only) contract still enjoys 1000GB FUP, and we offer to switch any services to EE/"3" without contractual penalty.
Other recommended options for very high usage scenarios is to use dual-SIM and dual-modem devices, preferably with eSIM capability, to load-balance or failover with multiple SIMs up to a possible 8TB monthly quota. Contact our specialists for info.
