In our tests PCMU (Pulse Code Modulation g.711 μ-Law ("μ" represented as "u"); not g.711 aLaw)
uLaw uses a CBR (Constant Bit Rate) of 64 Kbps, tolerates 125ms latency without dropping/queuing, and reproduces 8 kHz audio (8 bit per sample). It is supported globally.
Set this as the only support audio CODEC in Grandstream WP816/826 Wi-Fi handsets to ensure best compatibility:
