GWN7062E/ET routers - initial setup

Overview: In order to get your router online and auto-configured you may first need to complete the setup wizard and enter your unique PPPoE broadband username/password.

What you will need:

  • GWN7062E router (or ET version, with built-in VoIP telephone service)
  • Broadband PPPoE username
  • Broadband PPPoE password
  • Working Openreach fibre (PON light lit)
  • An Ethernet cabled (to connect Openreach ONT to your router)
  • A mobile phone or computer (with Wi-Fi or Ethernet port)


Connect cables

Connect NET1 to your Openreach ONT. Connect your computer to NET3, unless your only have wireless devices...


...alternatively connect a wireless device using the QR code or Wi-Fi password printed on the label:




Option 1: Configure the router using your computer or tablet (can also use phone)

Go to https://192.168.80.1 in a web browser and log in with username "admin" and password printed on label:


Option 2: Use the Apple or Android phone app to configure your router

Once signed into the app (register 1st time), click "+" to add a device and scan the code on the router label. Follow instructions here: https://documentation.grandstream.com/knowledge-base/grandstream-home-router-user-guide/

You will want to run the router setup wizard ("Quick setup") to edit the WAN broadband PPPoE username and password.



Complete quick setup

Launch quick setup to configure your router:


During step 2, Copy & Paste (or type) the PPPoE username and password unique to your account; be careful to check for unwanted leading or trailing spaces. Complete all steps.



Once online all other configuration can take place in the cloud; ask us for an account if you wish to modify or monitor using the cloud service.
