CloudSync upload status

Please note, that whilst this article refers to the "Share" service, the "Backup" service behaves in exactly the same manner.

In this first image, viewed on a Windows computer, note that one of the "CloudSync Share" folders is greyed out:

...as you can see, the folder "CompanySharedData" is a lighter colour than the others; this indicates that the some of the folder's contents have not yet fully uploaded to the Cloud. Any files/folders in this condition are available to open/edit on the local shared drive, but not yet available to others via the share or web portal. Once the files are fully uploaded then they will be available to anyone with authorized access.

In the next image, note that the full detailed status files not yet uploaded can be view in real-time. From the CloudSync icon on your computer select "Detailed Status" to view this report:

...as you can see, there are a number of files waiting to be uploaded. In the next image, obtained by clicking "Manage Backups > Settings", please note that the timing of the the uploads can be modified. By default the software client will check for files needing to be uploaded every hour. Also, the speed at which the files are upload is limited by (1) the speed of your broadband connection, and (2) the "Settings > Bandwidth" options that you have set on the client software. For the initial upload some users may take several days to complete a full upload of their files.

Now let's see how these files look on the web portal. In the next image you will see that some of the files available locally on the computer are not shown in the web portal:

...note that the folder "CompanySharedData" is not even showing up - this is because the folder contains files that are only partially uploaded, hence the folder is not complete.
In the next image we have checked the box "Show Hidden Files":

...note that the folder "CompanySharedData" is now showing up, but it is greyed out - this indicated that the folder has not been fully uploaded yet to the Cloud. Note also that a file "ATT00037.dat" is also now visible. Clicking the file drop-down menu and choosing "Properties" confirms that the file has not yet been fully uploaded. Once the initial "seeding" (uploading) of the folders/files is complete, only future new files will be greyed out - the existing files that have already been uploaded will be available.
The option "Show Deleted Files" allows you to view/download previous versions of files, including ones that had been deleted.
