To back up your Outlook email you will need to locate of your PST file(s):
Outlook 2010
- Start Outlook 2010
- Click the File tab in the Ribbon, and then click the Info tab on the menu
- Click the Account Settings tab
- Click Account Settings again
- Click Data Files
Note down the path and file name of your .pst file. For example, C:\Documents\User\Microsoft\Outlook.pst
- Click Close, click OK
Outlook 2002 through Outlook 2007
- Start Outlook
- On the Tools menu, click Options
- On the Mail Setup tab, click the Data Files button
Note down the path and file name of your .pst file. For example, C:\Documents\User\Microsoft\Outlook.pst
- Click Close, click OK
Once you have the location of the PST file then navigate to the folder in Windows Explorer, and then right-click the folder and choose ‘Backup with CloudSync’.
Note: If you use Microsoft Exchange then you will have a .ost file on your local machine and this file cannot be backed up using Microsoft's native VSS service. In this case please use one of our dedicated server backup solutions which includes licensed modules for professionally backing up Microsoft Exchange.
