D-Link R15 EAGLE PRO AI AX1500 Smart Router

Modified on Thu, 20 Jan 2022 at 02:08 PM

Overview: beginning in January 2022 we may have provided some FTTP customers (such as home workers) with an all-in-one Wi-Fi 6 router, the "D-Link R15 EAGLE PRO AI AX1500 Smart Router". This article helps customers to quickly configure-and-go!

You will need:

  • An active ONT (OpenReach will have installed this inside your home), and the PON light shows green
  • The MAC address and admin password (printed on the underside label of the D-Link router: see below))
  • Optional: the Wi-Fi password (if you do not have a computer with an Ethernet cable)
  • Optional: a photo of the underside label to share with your Support assistant
  • Your PPPoE username & password (we will have supplied this information ahead of the OpenReach visit)

Step 1: Connect to ONT

Using the supplied Ethernet cable, connect the yellow "Internet" port on the router to the yellow Ethernet port on the ONT, and power on the router.

Step 2: Log into the router

Note the last 4 digits of the "MAC" address printed on the underside label - in this example "76DD". Connect a computer or tablet to the router (either via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi, using Wi-Fi password on label) and go to the following URL in a browser, replacing "76DD" with the 4 digits printed on your label:

http://76DD.devicesetup.net

Login using the admin password

Step 3: Enter PPPoE credentials

Click Next until you are presented with the choice of Internet Connection type; choose "Username/Password Connection (PPPoE)" and click Next. Enter the PPPoE username and password, and click Next.

Step 4:Choose your own Wi-Fi and Admin password

Optional: modify the Wi-Fi name and password to your requirements, and click Next. You can also choose a new admin password. Finally, wait 1 minute whilst the settings are applied. You can now test your internet connection.

Additional (recommended) setting: Remote Management

Navigate to  Management > System Admin

Turn on "Enable HTTPs Remote Management", Remote Admin Port 8443, and "Use HTTPS", then click Save. This enabled our Support team to assist you remotely; be sure to advise any Support staff of the admin password should you need to request support.
