WAVE app

Modified on Tue, 21 Apr at 11:35 AM

With our WAVE app you can use your phone service even without a hardware phone; there are apps for mobile (iPhone and Android/Samsung), tablets/iPads, laptops/MacBooks, and desktop computers.

Step 1: Get the app from https://fw.gdms.cloud/wave/download/

We suggest starting with the mobile app for iPhone or Android (Samsung and others)

Step 2: Log into the web portal to generate a QR code

We will have emailed you instructions for login to the web portal, such as https://btwave.co.uk

You can actually make and receive calls right away from with the browser, even without installing any apps. You will likely find the apps more convenient, especially is using a mobile device.

Onsite PBX: If you have the onsite PBX (hardware) instead of "cloud only", then the default URL to access WAVE is https://192.168.80.2:8090

Once logged in click the top-left icon (your initials) and click the QR code button: to display the QR code

...now launch the app on your phone and click the scan icon (top-left) to scan the QR code on your computer.

ADDITIONAL STEPS: Ensure app has permissions

It's worth checking that your phone has granted the full set of permission to the WAVE app.

For Apple iPhone see https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iph251e92810/ios

For Android (Samsung/others) see https://support.google.com/android/answer/9431959?hl=en

Recommended permissions are:

  • Camera
  • Mic

  • Notifications

  • Phone

  • Contacts

  • Music & audio

  • Photos & video

How to configure "SIM ring" to simultaneously call a standard mobile phone

Using the WAVE app (desktop), click account icon (top-left corner, initials) > Settings > Calls > Call Features > Edit [button]

In the new window that appears navigate to: Extensions > Features [tab] > Ring Simultaneously: [enable, add external number]. Save, then Apply Changes.

When an inbound calls comes in the system will attempt to call your mobile number at the same time, and you can choose to answer on either. Be aware that if your mobile goes to voicemail before the main system voicemail/logic kicks in, then the system will interpret this as an answered call.

This feature also works with inbound calls that come in as part of a Ring Group feature.
