Voice mobility: DECT roaming

Overview: Enterprise and SME customers can enjoy handset roaming inside and outside the building. For multi-floor/multiple room the W90 kit can handle 250 phones across 60 different points; each point ("cell") has an indoor range up to 50m and 300m outdoors. A mixture of 2-tier-mesh and LAN sync allows the entire complex to be covered.

For small sites, even with a single phone, the W70 kit offers roaming across 10 different points ("cells") at a very affordable price, with no compromise on range (up to 50m indoors, 300m outdoors).

Home workers/remote office? A single W70B base is all that's required at a home office or remote location; plug into any broadband router and the handsets can be used as if at the main office.

Our staff opinion: We all love the W59R, and for a modest cap-ex cost difference it provides the option to wear a Bluetooth earpiece whilst talking, and has slightly larger keys which is vital if wearing gloves.

More than 10 points ("cells"): Enterprise option is for you

Contact us to undertake a site survey and ensure that you budget only for the number of points ("cells") needed, rather than guess-timates and over-spend. We can also follow through with installer and post-install quality inspections.

Less than 10 points ("cells"): SME option may be ideal

SME option is much cheaper than Enterprise, with a great array of features. Here's an example of a minimum installation for a single worker, with an office container fabricated from materials that inhibit radio signals (such as a metal shipping container), yet needing to work in the outdoor areas too. All that is required is a single handset and 2 W70B base stations.

IMPORTANT: This SME option does not provide "seamless" roaming during a call; it takes around 10 seconds for a handset to automatically switch between base stations, and then the calls can be made or resumed.

Technical details: the Cloud Voice account is activated on both base stations. The handset is then registered to both base stations, such as "Base1-office" and "Base2-deliveries". A special feature on the phone setting is selected "Bestbase", which monitors the signal strength and roams between each base as automatically.
